Firebird |

In a similar way to This Corrosion, Firebird is about the beauty of decay; the ways in which things change when consumed by nature. Here though the subject is the immense heat of fire. The canvas is built up with many layers of paint, some of which have been chipped and removed as if they have melted off. The canvas is also heavily textured to give the feeling of bubbling and burnt sugar. |
