A true abstract, Arubaluba was created with many layers of very watery paint on top of one another and allowed to merge whilst laying flat. The swirling effect was reminiscent of the sound of old 1970's synthesisers and sci-fi backdrops, so it is named for the Camel instrumental track from the band's 1973 eponymous debut album. The same water swirling effect is used on Nucleus, with a little more control, and to a less extent (and with the use of an incline to create runs) on Moonlight and Gold. |
