The first work from the new studio!

Since last I posted, I’ve moved house, and that’s given me the opportunity to build a new studio in the garden. More from the new Strawberry Fields coming…

Drawing twenty-four : kiwi dreams

Sort of a prequel to drawing six, which proved popular.

Drawing twenty : a clockwork chicken

Something small and silly for drawing twenty. New pens weren’t behaving quite the same as the old ones so needed a familiarisation exercise.

Drawings eleven and ten (in that order)

Drawing eleven : There is no drawing ten I was fortunate enough to see the Leonardo exhibition in London last year (have I belted on about that enough…

Drawing nine : A simple drawing of an ornate vase

Drawing eight : Not all angels play the harp

Drawing six : The Kiwi Who Flew

Drawing three – ROWR!

Drawing two – The Soloist

Went to a great concert tonight. Didn’t draw this in the concert hall obviously, but it seemed like a good subject for today’s 28 Drawings Later doodle.

If it’s good enough for David Hockney…

I have an iPad on trial at the moment, so thought I try some doodles on it.

With respect, if not permission.

Drawings twenty-five to twenty-eight

OK, I missed another one – drawing twenty-four – but I bring the whole 28 Drawings Later project to a close with this catch up from the weekend….

Drawing twenty-one – Scribbler rose

Some folks on the 28 Drawings Later facebook page have been using this web thingy : www.zefrank.com/scribbler/scribblertoo/ to make fun drawings so I thought I’d have a go.

Drawings sixteen to eighteen

Drawing seven – Handspan

Didn’t have anything from today so decided to draw my hand. Then I decided to draw around it, and its shadow, then it all got a bit abstract……

Drawing six – After Hokusai

Drawing four – Note tree

From work notebook. Actual notes blurred because they’re nowhere near as interesting as the tree.

Drawing two : Train due in eight minutes

Some days you get a two-hour painting of sunflowers, others you get a train platform scrawl. Them’s the breaks.

Landscape sketches #1

A few sketches from my landscape painting course.

Henry Moore study

A drawing done from one of Henry Moore’s sculptures in elm at his retrospective currently at Tate Britain. In charcoal, sanguine and white conte.

Life Drawing Weekend – part two

A couple more sketches from the life drawing weekend. A little less abstract these ones :

Life Drawing Weekend

Had a weekend life drawing at Maryhill Art School. So much stuff from two days, I’ll put a few favourite sketches up here I think. First, a couple…
